From 13 to 16 August 2026, the Gondwana Care Trust supported the Grace Project’s annual medical outreach in Bethanie in the //Kharas Region, helping bring free healthcare and practical support closer to the local community.

Over two days of medical services, seven doctors, two dentists and a dedicated team of volunteers assisted 645 patients. The outreach included general medical care, dental services and haircuts, with 194 teeth extracted. The team also conducted a home visit and later assisted with the delivery of a baby in a particularly memorable moment during a busy few days of service.

Support extended beyond healthcare. One thousand shoeboxes were distributed to children, while approximately 200 care packs were provided to teenagers living in hostels, ensuring that young people were also included in the outreach.

The Grace Project is a Namibian non-profit, community-based organisation supporting vulnerable communities through medical outreach and food assistance. It is also a partner in Gondwana’s MealforTwo initiative, through which surplus meat from the Gondwana Self-Sufficiency Centre and donations from valued partners are redirected to organisations helping people in need.

In addition, the Grace Project supports approximately 220 vulnerable households every month with grocery hampers and a home-cooked meal, with a particular focus on pensioners and families requiring ongoing assistance.

Its medical outreaches have previously reached communities including Khomasdal, Schlip, Groot Aub, Henties Bay, Aranos, Aroab, Leonardville and Gibeon.

The Gondwana Care Trust is proud to continue supporting the Grace Project and the volunteers who give their time and expertise to bring care, dignity and essential services to communities across Namibia.
