MealForTwo

By Gondwana Collection
October 26, 2022

The MealForTwo is a lifesaving project for many vulnerable individuals and children living in difficult situations.

The Gondwana Care Trust, and with it the MealForTwo Program, were founded in 2017 and since inception have supported thousands of Namibians with a warm meal. The goal of the MealForTwo Project is to donate a balanced meal for every dinner sold at a Gondwana lodge, to a less advantaged individual in Namibia.

Any contribution makes a difference.

Please donate through our bank account or contact us via email caretrust@gcnam.com if you are able to contribute with food items. Thank you!

We cannot do it alone, thank you to all our partners who make this project a reality.

Our Impact in 2022*:

As tourism continued to recover in Namibia, the aftermath of the last two years of economic strive still ripples through most of the country, especially among our vulnerable communities. Because of this, we (Gondwana Care Trust) were even more determined to continue providing much needed food aid to these vulnerable communities. With the help of our partners, the Gondwana Care Trust has provided a calculated total of 229,000 meals to its approximately 4,000 individual beneficiaries in 2022 (*up until mid-Sept 2022).

Since October 2019 when the project was formally started in partnership with Bank Windhoek, we have donated 670,000 meals.

Elshaddai is a non-profit organisation that cares and supports orphans, vulnerable children and elderly people, living in challenging financial conditions. The word "shaddai" is a Hebrew word which means all powerful, All-Mighty and "El" means God and strength.

This feeding program was first known as Elshaddai Helping Hands but is currently named as Elshaddai Caring and Feeding. The Organization is registered with The Church Alliance for Orphans. It is situated in Keetmanshoop and provides a meal twice a week to children and elderly people in need. Furthermore, El Shaddai assists the youth with registration and legal paperwork.

Elshaddai celebrated Mandela Day with the community and provided much needed care and a warm meal to many. The Gondwana Care Trust assisted with groceries valued over N$10 000.00 and additional meat on the day of the event, thanks to the MealForTwo Program.
