What is a Gondwana Collection Namibia Membership?
With Gondwana Membership, Gondwana Collection Namibia wants to enable more people from Namibia and the Southern African region to travel Namibia.
For Namibians, a Gondwana Membership grants 50% discount on stays at Gondwana accommodation offerings as well 25% discount on dinner and activities.
For residents of the Southern African Development Community states (SADC), a Gondwana Membership implies 40% discount on stays at Gondwana accommodation offerings as well 25% discount on dinner and activities.
Who can apply for a Gondwana Membership?
In principle, any Namibian or SADC citizen can apply for Gondwana membership. This includes
- citizens with a Namibian or SADC passport, even if they live abroad
- international residents, expats and foreigners living in Namibia or SADC countries, who have a valid work, study or residence permit.
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) has 16 member states: Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Is it possible to make a group booking with my Gondwana Membership?
The Gondwana Membership discount is offered on an individual basis only. So, when making a group booking you must provide each person’s valid Gondwana Membership number to receive the Gondwana member discount for everyone.
In other words, you cannot use your personal Gondwana membership to obtain discounts for other travellers.
Is there also a Gondwana Collection Namibia Membership for Businesses?
Yes. Gondwana offers uncomplicated and easy business travel within Namibia including accommodation, and rental cars.

Why can international guests from outside the SADC region not apply for Gondwana Membership?
Gondwana Collection Namibia has been thinking about a kind of loyalty offer for international visitors for some time now. Unfortunately, this is not as easy as it seems because we don't want to offend our partners in the tourism industry who are rooted in traditional pricing structures.
As a solution, we have instead launched a website where we offer special deals to our international guests.
Why was the Gondwana Membership for Namibian and SADC residents introduced?
With the Gondwana Membership, Gondwana Collection wanted to enable our compatriots to travel in their own country. The average income in Namibia has always been much lower than in Europe or North America. Travelling in our own country is hardly affordable for Namibians.
Of the 10% direct bookers who we had back in 2007 when the Gondwana Membership was introduced, only a dwindling proportion were Namibians! With the Gondwana Membership, we wanted to enable our compatriots to travel in their own country and at the same time raise their awareness of nature, its sustainable use and conservation - and also of the importance of tourism for the Namibian economy.

Please read these terms and conditions carefully. By accessing this website you agree to be bound by the below terms and conditions. These terms and conditions are subject to change at the sole discretion of the Gondwana Holdings Limited Board of Directors. The Terms and Conditions as published on the Website at the time of the booking shall apply.
Gondwana shall not be obliged to notify members of any amendments or change to the conditions.
GONDWANA MEMBERSHIP FEES
- The fees are relevant to all applications.
- Gondwana Memberships have a 5-year term with expiry date 5 years from the date of issue.
- Temporary memberships are only valid for the duration of the work visa permit provided.
- As from 1 June 2025, Gondwana Collection will no longer print Gondwana Cards. Instead, please keep your Membership number safe! When booking please quote your Gondwana Membership number, which will be checked for validity against your relevant ID/passport number.
- One-time fee payable upon registration and re-application of membership:
Adults (14 yrs and older) – N$ 300 per membership
Children 6-13 yrs – N$ 150 per membership
Children 0-5 yrs – No membership required. - Each holder/applicant needs to have their own Gondwana Membership to qualify for the special rates.
GONDWANA MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
As of 1 June 2025, Gondwana no longer issues physical Gondwana Cards. Instead, members are required to present a valid Gondwana Membership number or positive identification (e.g. ID document, passport) when checking in, and/or paying for dinner and activities.
MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNTS AND REFUNDS
- Members only qualify for the discounts referred to herein when reservations and payments are made directly with Gondwana.
- Rates and details as published on the website on the date of booking shall apply and are subject to change without prior notice.
- Prices relating to the bookings will be indicated during the booking process.
- No discounts allowed for bookings made via any Tour Operator, Travel Agent, Online Booking Platform (e.g. Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb etc.).
- No discounts will be granted on any bookings prior to the issuing of Gondwana Membership.
- No discounts will be granted on expired memberships.
- Refunds to be affected according to the cancellation policy.
- Due to its already low prices, Klein-Aus Vista Campsite and Geisterschlucht Cabin will be the only exclusion from the Gondwana Membership discount.

GENERAL
- The Gondwana Membership discounts may be used throughout the year at any of the Gondwana Collection properties in Namibia with the exception of Klein-Aus Vista Campsite and the Geisterschlucht Cabin.
- The Gondwana Membership is not transferrable, and no rights shall be ceded.
- The validity of member numbers' will be verified in respect of all bookings.
- Proof of payment and booking confirmation from Gondwana Collection Namibia shall be presented at check-in.
- On arrival at the accommodation facilities, all the members included in the booking have to present positive proof of identification.

BOOKING PROCEDURE
- Check ALL booking details on the Booking Summary/Confirmation received.
- Advise Gondwana booking agent of incorrect booking details or changes immediately.
- Payment strictly 72 hours (3 days) after receipt of the Booking Summary, failing which the booking will be deleted from the system automatically without prior notice.
- The Status of the booking summary is PROVISIONAL and will only be converted to CONFIRMED, once the full payment reflects on our bank statement.
- Bookings are subject to availability at the time of the booking.
- Bookings made directly on arrival have to be paid in full at the property/facility (discounts for card holders applicable).

- 22 – 28 days prior to arrival: 20%
- 15 – 21 days prior to arrival: 30%
- 08 – 14 days prior to arrival: 50%
- 04 – 07 days prior to arrival: 75%
- 01 – 03 days prior to arrival: 90%
