As the first school term slowly draws to a close with holidays in sight, the Gondwana Care Trust reflects on the impact you helped us make at the beginning of the school year. Through the collective efforts of partners, teams, and supporters, several initiatives were launched to ensure that learners across Namibia could begin the year equipped, encouraged and ready to learn.
In the first week of 2026, the Gondwana Collection team came together in a spirit of teamwork and generosity to support learners from the Torra, Sesfontein, and Anabeb Conservancies, collectively known as the Big Three. The team prepared school bags for learners attending three schools in the Kunene Region: Jakob Basson Combined School, Elias Amxab Combined School and Grootberg Primary School. Through this collective effort, a total of 203 school bags were packed to help learners start their academic year with the essential tools they need.

Extending the reach of the initiative even further, an additional 40 school bags were packed for Wilderness Therapy Namibia, reinforcing the Care Trust’s broader commitment to supporting youth development and wellbeing beyond the conservancies.
Collaboration also played a key role in supporting schools in other parts of the country. In partnership with Help4Nam, Gondwana Care Trust donated stationery valued at N$39,595.00 to learners at KW Von Marees Combined School in Okahandja and Groot Aub Primary School in Groot Aub. The schools were identified by the Help4Nam team to ensure the support reached communities where it was needed most.

The stationery handovers took place in January, benefiting a total of 200 learners, with 100 learners supported at each school. These stationery packs provided learners with essential educational resources, enabling them to participate more confidently in class and focus on their learning.
In another meaningful outreach, the team from The Delight Swakopmund hotel joined Gondwana Care Trust for a visit to the Democratic Resettlement Community (DRC) settlement, home to Grow Together Kindergarten. The centre plays an important role in the community by providing early childhood education while also operating a training resource centre that equips women from the surrounding area with practical, income-generating skills to help support themselves and their families.

During the visit, the team officially handed over 155 back-to-school bags to the learners. The donation helps ease the burden on families while encouraging children to attend school with confidence, joy and pride.
Together, these initiatives demonstrate the power of collaboration and compassion in creating opportunities for learners and strengthening communities across Namibia.
