Starting point for your online application is the website of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security (MHAISS) https://eservices.mhaiss.gov.na/visaonarrival
As long as you choose the correct visa option for yourself (Visa on Arrival !!), the process is manageable. (We have experienced an application process with a German client via screen sharing.)
For the online application, you have to register an account on the website https://eservices.mhaiss.gov.na/visaonarrival first, before starting the application process.
Once registered, a family member can submit applications on behalf of other family members. For each individual, a visa application form must be filled in.
Per individual online application, the applicant has an approximately 30-minute window, to complete and submit the form. Thereafter, the applicant receives a time-out message and has to start the process all over again. (But don't worry, you'll be much faster on the second attempt😉)
The E-Visa on Arrival will be issued immediately once the application and payment process is complete. It is automatically issued as a multiple entry visa (that means you can go on a trip to Victoria Falls, and re-enter Namibia with the same visa).
However, visa applicants who fill in their visa application forms at their point of entry, please ask the immigration officer for a multiple visa, if required.
In the application form, travellers have to provide their personal and travel details, and upload
In the application form (Field 10), you have to provide “Places to Be Visited”. Our contact at the MHAISS support service confirmed that international travellers only have to provide the first and the last place of their stay in the online application form as well as the destinations.
For a visit to family and friends, one full contact address and telephone number is sufficient. Unfortunately, it is not possible to copy/paste information into this field of the online application (you must type it in).
According to FENATA visa update from 12 March 2025, NO Visa on Arrival is applicable for arrivals before 01 April 2025; this applies to the countries unter the current free visa regulations.
Should an applicant who has entered Namibia under the current free visa regulations, exit Namibia, and seeks to re-enter the country after the 1st of April 2025, he or she MUST apply for either E-Visa on Arrival, or Visa on Arrival at the point of entry.
This also applies to clients doing cross-border tours who arrive before the 1st of April 2025 and whose tour exits and then re-enters Namibia after the 1st of April 2025.
According to a media release from TASA dated 28 March 2025, the validity period for the Visa on Arrival has been extended to 90 days in a calendar year from the date of issue.
Travellers who have already obtained an E-Visa on Arrival since the launch and require additional days can request an extension upon arrival. To process this request, they must provide the required documents to the Immigration officials for verification.
Each person should apply for an Online Visa on Arrival separately.
However, once you have registered an account on the MHAISS website, you can file a separate application for each family member by using your account. (Your family members do not have to register separate accounts.)
As per media release of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security (27 March 2025), group bulk payments have been introduced for online e-visa transactions, enabling payments up to N$97,000.
Each international traveller must apply for an individual Visa on Arrival.
However, as per media release of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security (27 March 2025), group bulk payments have been introduced for online e-visa transactions, enabling service providers to pay up to N$97,000.
This implies that several individual online applications can be submitted via one account and all paid together.
After consultation with the Ministry, tourism associations emphasised that it was sufficient to present the booking confirmation(s) and a credit card.
The visa support service also assured us that a recent bank statement would be sufficient.
