The floods in the Fish River have subsided, trails are remarked and the Fish River Canyon Trails are accessible again. Gondwana Collection Namibia wants to invite all hiking enthusiasts to experience the largest Canyon in Africa at its best after a bountiful rainy season.
Explore the Fish River Canyon from as close as it gets, hiking in pristine nature with just a light backpack. Luggage and equipment are conveyed between the overnight camps, that offer cooking and bathroom facilities.
The hiking season kicks off on 24 April 2022, so team up with friends and family and choose one of the three Fish River Canyon Trails through the wilderness area north of the main viewing point: Klipspringer Trail (17km hike, 3 nights), Zebra Trail (35km, 3 nights), and the Fish Eagle Trail (35km, 4 nights). The minimum number of participants per group is four persons, maximum 14 persons.
Due to the high temperatures in the Canyon, the Fish River Canyon Trails are only available in the Namibian winter months from April to September.
