Gondwana Collection will be at the Namibia Tourism Expo again this year, and we are looking forward to your visit. Come and experience a celebration of the tourism industry in Namibia. Get to know new and exciting products and services. The Namibia Tourism Expo takes place from 26 to 28 April 2023 at the Windhoek Country Club & Resort.
What’s new at Gondwana?
The Gondwana stand at the Expo would like to introduce you to the recently reopened Okapuka Safari Lodge and Go2 Traveller Transfers, which started operations in June 2022.
The newly-renovated Okapuka Safari Lodge on the outskirts of Windhoek – now managed by Gondwana - has been welcoming guests since 2 April this year. Everyone is very welcome to enjoy a nature or game drive, or a meal at Okapuka but only by prior reservation one day in advance.
The Go2 Traveller Transfers are geared to both locals and the overseas market, and are enjoying an increasing demand. This comfortable and reliable transfer service provides easy getaways to destinations like Sossusvlei, the Kalahari, Swakopmund, Damaraland and Etosha on a daily basis, while the Fish River Canyon is served 3 times per week.
The Gondwana representatives at the Expo stand will be happy to answer any Gondwana related question. Unfortunately, we will not be able to issue any Gondwana Cards but gladly assist you with the application process.
Participation in the NACSO Boarding Pass initiative
In recent years, Gondwana Collection Namibia expanded its reach into the communal areas of our country. Joint Venture Agreements ensure that a fair share of the financial benefits derived from the Gondwana lodges go to the respective conservancies and local communities. They also benefit from local employment and empowerment initiatives.
Thus, NACSO invited Gondwana to join their “Tourism Expo Boarding Pass” initiative involving JV operators. NACSO is an association which assists rural communities to manage and utilise their natural resources in a sustainable manner.
And this is how the initiative works: Visitors to the Namibia Tourism Expo will receive an Information Boarding Pass that serves as a map of all the joint venture partners at the Expo. Visitors are required to visit all these stands and participate in the activities in exchange for a stamp. Once the visitors collected all the necessary stamps, they can submit them at the Namibia Conservation Tourism stand, and stand a chance to win a trip to one of the joint venture lodges or campsites.
Gondwana Collection also contributed a complimentary stay for two people sharing for two nights including breakfast at a Gondwana Joint Venture property, namely Palmwag Lodge and Camp, Omarunga Epupa Falls Camp, Etosha King Nehale, Namushasha River Lodge, Zambezi Mubala Lodge, Zambezi Mubala Camp, and Chobe River Camp.
Vote to determine the People’s Choice Awards
While the Expo organiser Namibia Media Holdings (NMH) will award the prizes for the best stands themselves, namely the Overall Winner and the three Editor’s Choice Awards, the visitors of the Namibia Tourism Expo will determine the winners for People’s Choice Awards.
They have to vote via SMS (cost N$5 each), scanning the QR code at stands or using the entry ticket stub. A visitor can only vote once for an individual stand. Join in and stand a chance to win one of the attractive prizes
Gondwana is looking forward to seeing you at the Namibia Tourism Expo 2023.
