Gondwana Collection Namibia is excited to announce a new partnership with Dr MacQ, a Namibian telemedicine company, to provide quality medical care to guests anytime, anywhere. Effective 1 July 2024, all Gondwana properties are part of the Dr MacQ Network, offering 24/7 access to general practitioners via WhatsApp, phone calls, or SMS.
Free Access During Trial Period
During a 3-month trial period (July-September 2024), guests staying at Gondwana properties, traveling in Namibia2Go vehicles, or using Go2 Traveller Transfers will have free access to this service. If a guest feels unwell or has an injury, the lodge team will provide the guests with the contact details to Dr MacQ for a private medical consultation, avoiding the need to visit a doctor's office, emergency room, or hospital. As part of the trial period, Gondwana Collection Namibia has installed a small pharmacy at the Namib Desert Collection. This pilot program allows guests who are issued prescriptions by Dr MacQ to collect and pay for their medication directly at the lodge.
Urgent Care and Emergencies
For urgent care or medical emergencies, the lodge team will be assisted by the Dr MacQ team immediately on behalf of the guest. The doctors will assess the patient's condition and guide the process, including contacting emergency services or alerting the receiving hospital if a medical evacuation is necessary.

Dedicated support: The Dr MacQ team becomes the primary contact for the Gondwana team in the event of a medical emergency, providing guidance and assistance throughout the process.
