If you’re reading this you must be planning your holiday to Namibia and of course you should continue reading… You may have gone through the process of planning a holiday somewhere new and it can often be nerve-wracking. You’re going to this new place, where people have unique lifestyles, speak different languages, with captivating ways of communicating, distinctive cultures, and exquisite outfits and of course exotic food that you’re eager to devour.

You might not be sure about what to expect or to be thrilled about for your Namibian adventure. But I have managed to pick a few things you should know during your planning phase.

This is what you need to know about our striking home, Namibia:

  1. Culture

This country has a captivating rich cultural heritage with embedded influences from various western and African explorers from yesteryear. It has become a colourful melting pot of cultures that beautifully ignite diversity.

  1. People

People are what make us want to travel and return to a place, and it is often because of their sense of community, empathy and openness to share their home ‘country’ with us. You’ll love and enjoy our Namibian people as they sincerely share their stories with you during your journey. Do make time to slow down and connect with people during your sojourn.

  1. Food

As I mentioned earlier, our home is a melting pot of cultures and this creates a wonderful opportunity to delight in an assortment of food and drinks. After all, it is also through the consumption of food that we gain a grasp of who others are, their heritage and how we make new friends. Also, it allows us to appreciate and value that which makes us all unique.

  1. Destinations

But of course, you came to experience the country’s exquisite landscape, from the rugged Fish River Canyon, Namib Desert to the Zambezi River. Or to wake up to the sounds of nature at Camping2Go. You’ll have the ability to marvel at distinct corners of this country and I think one visit might not be enough to unearth it.

  1. Driving

Namibia is vast as a destination. Your visit is something that needs to be effortless, comfortable and affordable in order for you to have an unforgettable experience.  To make your journey through Namibia painless you should make use of easy, hassle free car rental options like, Namibia2Go. In addition, always be alert when you drive, stop, rest or stretch, avoid alcohol intake and stick to the speed restrictions.

A new canopy is also featured on the fully equipped Hilux.

In the meantime, let your imagination run wild and take a minute to have a peak at our YouTube Channel to learn more about Namibia. I can only share so much, as the best adventures are those with unexpected moments that become forever memories.

What else would you like to know about Namibia?

Author –  I’m Nela, from a small village called Ongha in Namibia. I am intrigued by research, writing and photography as it is an ideal way to gain knowledge about people and the world. And of course… to share it too!
