    Overview & Location

As you arrive at Hakusembe River Lodge, you are welcomed by a refreshing scene of lush green lawns, towering trees, charming thatched chalets, and a sparkling stretch of the Okavango River. Instantly, the soothing beauty envelops you, easing your weary soul. You’ve discovered a tranquil oasis where a sense of calm descends, staying with you throughout your visit.

Feel right at home in one of the 20 chalets available. Kick back on the floating deck, legs up and book in hand, soaking in the serenity accompanied by the melodies of birds and the gentle splashing of water, allowing all your worries to drift away.

For those willing to venture out, take a refreshing dip in the pool nestled within the lush garden, try your hand at catching the elusive tiger fish, stroll to the Mbunza Cultural Village, or embark on a scenic boat cruise. Located just 16 kilometres from Rundu, off B10, in the Kavango East Region, this hidden gem offers a perfect respite from your travels.

A must-visit accommodation treasure in Namibia’s northern region, Hakusembe River Lodge will quickly become a highlight on your itinerary, providing a welcome break in your journey from Windhoek and Etosha to the Zambezi Region and Victoria Falls.

Take note: In the dry season between September and December, the rivers tend to hold so little water that boat trips are limited, with little or no access to the river channels. You are welcome to enquire about the boat cruise activities upon check-in. We make every effort to maintain the activity as long as water levels permit. The safety of our guests comes first.
