What photographic equipment can I rent from Namibia2Go, Gondwana Travel Centre and Prohire?
At Prohire, in partnership with Namibia2Go and the Gondwana Travel Centre, you can rent either the GoPro Hero 12 Black Creator Edition or the Sony Safari Kit.
Please note that Prohire does not rent out memory cards, but they are available for purchase.

What are the specifications of the cameras, lenses etc?
Full payment is required before equipment is handed over; no security deposit required.
What happens if the equipment gets damaged?
Normal wear and tear, such as minor scratches on camera bodies or lenses, is expected.
However, scratches on glass, sensors, or other parts that affect the equipment's functionality are considered damage and incur additional charges.
Excess charged for the Sony Safari Kit:
200mm-600mm lens - N$1000.00
24mm-105mm - N$1000.00
Sony A7iv - N$1000.00
Excess charged for the Gopro Kit:
Gopro Hero 12 - N$650.00
Is the equipment insured in the event of theft?
Yes, the equipment is insured; no excess charged in the case of theft.
How do I collect and return rental gear?
Collection of photographic equipment:
If you are booking through the Gondwana Travel Centre or the Namibia2Go car rental, Prohire will ensure that the equipment is available on arrival; either at Namibia2Go, at Prohire or in your accommodation.
Namibia2Go: Monday to Sunday, including public holidays, from 8:00 to 17:00 at 2 Bassingthwaighte Street, Klein Windhoek, Windhoek.
Prohire: Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 17:00 at 13 Reger St, Southern Industrial, Pietan Park, Unit 7, Windhoek, Namibia.
Kindly indicate if you are interested in an official handover of the equipment with tips on how to use it, or if you just want to pick it up.
Return of photographic equipment:
If you return to Windhoek before your departure, you can leave the photographic equipment at Namibia2Go, at Prohire or we will pick it up at your accommodation.
In certain cases, and only upon pre-arrangement, it is possible to drop off the equipment in places other than Windhoek.
Does Prohire provide expert support during the rental period?
Prohire offers extensive customer support throughout your rental duration. The team is available to help resolve issues and provide guidance on capturing exceptional photos and videos in Namibia.

What happens when I return gear late?
If you return the gear after the agreed-upon rental period, an additional full rental day will be charged at the normal rate until the equipment is returned.
Can I claim a refund when I return the equipment early?
Returning gear early does not qualify for a refund, as it doesn’t guarantee that other customers weren’t turned away. However, we may consider a refund if no other bookings were affected.

Is there a discount structure for longer period rentals?
During the introductory phase for the rental of Safari Kits, a very favourable special rate applies until 30 October 2024; therefore, we do not grant any further discounts for longer rental periods.
From 1 November 2024, the regular prices will apply. Please contact us directly at hire@prohire.cc for information regarding discounts on longer rentals.
May I take the photographic rental equipment across a border?
Unfortunately, cross-border travel with the Safari Kits is not permitted. The use of this equipment is restricted to Namibia.
Is photographic equipment always provided in hard-shell cases?
To ensure safety on gravel roads and uneven terrain, all photo and video equipment is stored in padded hard-shell cases.
For clients travelling on chartered flights, we can provide custom packaging in soft bags upon prior request.
