Gondwana Collection Namibia has invited the health insurance company NHP to host a Wellness Day at Gondwana House in Windhoek on 26 November 2021, which will be continued on 3 December. More than 100 of Gondwana’s 170 Windhoek based employees made appointments for the voluntary health check, during which height and weight are measured, and blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels are determined.

Based on the Lifestyle Risk Assessment questionnaire the Gondwana employees filled out beforehand and the results of the medical screening, two nurses provided valuable tips for a healthier lifestyle or suggested appropriate programmes to improve health.
Another NHP consultant was available for personal discussions and any questions related to the NHP health insurance benefits. Alongside these consultations, Gondwanians were also treated to a brief back and neck massage. Every colleague received a lovely gift and was entered into a lucky draw for a Bluetooth speaker.

The Namibia Health Plan is offering Wellness Days free of charge in its efforts to shift the focus from curative, to primary and preventative health care. Gondwana Collection embraced the opportunity to create awareness of certain health risks among its employees and to enhance their personal wellbeing, while improving productivity and increasing job satisfaction.
The Wellness Day will be complemented by an Execuspecs’ initiative offering free visual screening on 30 November. Many Gondwanians have already booked their appointments.
