Gondwana Collection Namibia kicks off the 2025 Academy Value Tour

By Gondwana Collection
February 06, 2025

On Monday, 3 February 2025, Gondwana Collection Namibia officially launched the 2025 Academy Value Tour. The programme, first introduced in 2015, is designed specifically for Gondwana Collection Namibia employees and aims to reinforce the organisations core values, improve product knowledge and allow participants to experience Namibia from a guest’s perspective.

The Gondwana Academy, through its various programmes, supports career advancement through ongoing training and skill development. The Value Tour - an initiative which will be repeated every two years - spans three weeks and covers multiple regions of Namibia, from the Karas to the Oshikoto region. Participants will be exposed to a variety of landscapes and cultural settings and through this geographical diversity, learn more about Namibia’s natural and cultural heritage.

Representing a wide range of roles across the organisation, 28 employees were chosen out of more than 100 applicants to attend this year’s tour. Managing Director, Gys Joubert, highlighted the significance of the programme during the launch event, telling participants, "You are not here by chance; we recognise potential in each of you. The outcome of this experience is in your hands, and we will cheer you on from the sidelines. Most importantly, embrace and enjoy the journey."

Gondwana Academy facilitator Ume Goldbeck welcomed participants, encouraging them to fully embrace the experience while tour guide Kurt Schlenther stressed the importance of personal development, active engagement and openness to learning, as well as the unique growth opportunities at each destination.

Manni Goldbeck, one of the founding fathers of Gondwana Collection Namibia and tour facilitator, outlined the programme’s objectives, linking Namibia’s historical sites to Gondwana’s core values and the participants’ professional development. He sees the Academy Tour as part of the company’s broader mission to foster its corporate culture.

The Academy Value Tour 2025 underscores Gondwana Collection’s commitment to talent development promoting diversity.
