Etosha King Nehale - Postponed is not abandoned

By Gondwana Collection
April 20, 2020

Due to the national lockdown as a response measure to the COVID-19 crisis, the opening of Etosha King Nehale, which was originally scheduled to open doors on 1 May has now been postponed to 10 June 2020. Gondwana Collection Namibia’s newest lodge was built on the wide-open Andoni plains just outside King Nehale Gate to the legendary Etosha National Park.

The lodge is conveniently located, making the passage from Namutoni Camp (40km) and forays into northern Etosha a breeze. A highlight of a stay is to spend time viewing wildlife at the exclusive waterhole in Etosha reserved for lodge guests.

Each of the spacious guest chalets has a plunge pool with a view over the plains, offering guests the exceptional feeling of endless space and limitless horizons. Etosha King Nehale exudes a relaxed yet royal air; it merges fluid and fresh modern interiors with flourishes of the North introducing visitors subtly and stylishly to the central northern regions.

For those who enjoy a new culture and are open to different cuisine and fascinating history, take the time to explore this culture-rich area. Dubbed ‘Owamboland’ in the past, the four regions in central northern Namibia - Oshikoto, Oshana, Ohangwena and Omusati - are home to the largest ethnic group in Namibia, the Aawambo people.

Etosha King Nehale was originally scheduled to open doors on 1 May. The name of the lodge pays tribute to the former king of the Ondonga Traditional Authority, King Nehale lya Mpingana.
