Anib Active, cycling and running in the splendour of the Kalahari

For the first time ever, Gondwana Collection Namibia will be offering a supported Running and Cycling event at Kalahari Anib Lodge, 30 km northeast of Mariental. On the morning of 02 October 2021 all trail runners and mountain-bikers are invited to join us for our ‘Anib Active’ in the crisp Kalahari air as we depart for the trails at sunrise.

Runners can sign up for routes of 10, 21 or 45 km, while mountain bikers have the choice between 40 and 70 km. There are also fun routes for children and for all those who like to participate at a more leisurely pace. All routes lead through the fascinating landscape of the Gondwana Kalahari Park, where one or the other antelope or giraffe might join the race. A park fee of N$200.00 per participant will be charged. This includes the setup of the various routes available, as well as marshals and water points to make the trail an easy one.

The fun-focused events of the morning will be followed up with a Frühshoppen-styled lunch in the spirit of Oktoberfest, participation is optional. Accommodation at Kalahari Anib Lodge, Camping2Go or the campsite is available at standard rates, Gondwana Cards apply. Bring your family along and spend an active, yet relaxing weekend in the Kalahari. The breakout of Covid-19 impacted the world’s health and health-care services, as well as economies, tourism and general business sectors. However, it also largely impacted sports on a wide scale. While Gondwana Collection Namibia cannot offer rugby matches, our lodges are ideal locations for trail running and off-road cycling.
