We embrace collaboration and cultural exchange through volunteer and international exchange programmes. These initiatives allow participants to contribute to our operations while gaining invaluable insights into Namibia’s unique environment, communities, and hospitality sector. This programme provides international students with hands-on experience in a professional setting, while also allowing them to share their unique perspectives and skills. Additionally, Gondwana Collection seeks to place its employees at partner hospitality establishments, such as Romantik AG in Germany, allowing them to experience different service cultures and work settings, ultimately enhancing their own skills and contributing to the organisation.

Skills Training

We partner with leading training providers to develop and deliver customised programmes that address real-world challenges while aligning with Gondwana Collection’s mission.

Through engaging workshops and innovative digital learning solutions, we aim to enhance skills, ignite creativity, and foster growth. Our comprehensive offerings span a wide range of focus areas, including leadership, safety, compliance, and culinary arts.

Apprenticeships
Shaping futures with structured Work-Integrated Learning Programs
Apprenticeships are dual-learning programs facilitated by the Namibia Training Authority and offered in tandem with identified Training Providers. 70% of learning is spent at the workplace, while 30% of time is spent at the Training Provider. The programmes are aimed at skills transfer for employees and applicants from Joint Venture partners and follow identified periods of placement (24 or 36 months).   
 
Gondwana Collection’s apprenticeship programmes combine hands-on training and theoretical learning in hospitality, tourism, and business management. Guided by experienced mentors, participants gain the skills needed for success in guiding, hospitality services, and business management. The programmes lead to nationally recognised qualifications, preparing participants for the job market. Whether starting or upskilling, Gondwana Collection’s apprenticeship programmes offer a clear pathway to career success, supporting participants as they build a promising future in the hospitality industry.

Current Apprenticeship Programmes

National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 3 Local Guides
This programme is specifically designed for individuals from joint venture partners (conservancies) with Gondwana Collection Namibia. It aims to support the communities in which Gondwana Collection operates. The training focuses on honing guiding skills, such as knowledge of local flora and fauna, cultural insights, and effective communication with tourists. 

National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 3 Local Guides (Internal)
Tailored for existing Gondwana Collection's employees, this apprenticeship allows those interested in transitioning into guide roles within the organisation to receive the necessary training.

National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 3 Hospitality Services (External & Internal)
This programme caters to both candidates from conservancies and internal employees who are interested in pursuing careers and qualifications in hospitality.

As a proud Vocational Education and Training (VET) Levy payer, we’re deeply invested in Namibia’s workforce development. Our collaboration with the Namibia Training Authority (NTA) fuels the apprenticeship programmes that blend hands-on experience with academic excellence, ensuring every participant gains skills and certifications that open doors to the future. apprenticeship programmes in guiding, hospitality services, and business management, creating certified professionals ready to join the and serve the Namibian nation.

Commercial Advancement Training Scheme (CATS)

Diploma in Business Process Management (NQF) Level 6
Gondwana Collection hosts apprenticeships for two CATS Diploma students for a two-year period, providing them with both practical and theoretical training. Practical training consists of four days a week of on-the-job experience, while another one and a half days are dedicated to theoretical instruction at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). 

CATS Certificate in Supervisory Skills Development (NQF) Level 5 
This year-long training programme focuses on developing in-house leadership and management skills. Gondwana Collection's employees at the Windhoek support centres are given the opportunity to receive training and certification through NUST's CATS programme.

The vision of the Gondwana Training Academy is to foster individual growth and skills development through multi-approach learning in a dedicated safe environment, leading to alignment with the Gondwana culture.

Transferring skills and building confidence in our talented employees is essential for our growth as a company. We therefore strive to provide a solid platform for opportunity, training and personal advancement.

Personal assessment, motivation, empowerment and individual recognition are the foundation for our team development.
