At Gondwana Collection Namibia we cultivate sustainable partnerships with other businesses, organisations, and stakeholders with aligned missions to make a meaningful impact on nature conservation, social upliftment and Namibia’s tourism industry, creating a foundation for shared growth. We would like to thank our partners for their contributions, support, and collaboration efforts.
Our hospitality offerings in prime locations in Windhoek and Swakopmund are complimented by 50:50 joint venture partnerships with property owners. The leverage of expertise contributes to operational efficiency and sustainable, responsible growth. Our commercial joint ventures, Gondwana Hospitality Management Pty Ltd and Okapuka Hospitality Management Pty Ltd are characterised by stable, trust-based relationships based on mutual respect and shared goals.
The same applies to our longstanding marketing partnership with Klein-Aus Vista dating back to 2006, while we have been sharing not only marketing but also training initiatives with Romantik® Hotels & Restaurants in Europe since 2019.
At Gondwana Collection, we have long-term joint venture agreements with our conservancy and community partners. Gondwana is Namibia’s largest contributor to community-based tourism, with seven lodges on communal land and in conservancy areas.
This makes us the biggest tourism employer in areas where job opportunities and skills are limited. We pay joint venture operating fees through a benefit distribution agreement with the respective conservancies, including contributions to community development funds.
Gondwana Collection relies on suppliers for various essential goods and services that support our operations across Namibia, including food, beverages, construction materials, and ecofriendly products. We support Namibian-owned suppliers and wholesalers who, in turn, support local manufacturers, community projects and the local agricultural sector.
We diversify our supplier base by supporting local small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) near our hospitality establishments. The curio shops at the lodges and our e-commerce store proudly support income-generating local partner projects, including upcoming artisans, women’s associations and charities that create local handmade products.
Gondwana Collection engages with the Namibian government and public institutions to advocate for policies that support the growth of the tourism sector, particularly those that promote sustainable tourism, ease of business operations and improved infrastructure.
We support community-based conservation programmes that benefit both local communities and the ecosystem. We also engage with public sector institutions to support national training initiatives aimed at improving skills in the tourism sector.
At Gondwana Collection, we deliver value beyond profits, reflecting our commitment to Namibia’s natural and cultural heritage. Our shareholders are essential, providing the capital needed for our growth and continuity. Vice versa, the value we create through sustainable tourism practices is aimed at ensuring returns for our shareholders.
We focus on initiatives that align with our core values and purpose, ensuring that every investment contributes positively to our long-term vision of promoting sustainable tourism in Namibia.
We value the services of various tourism operators and channels that reach potential travellers. We work side by side to market Namibia as an attractive travel destination. These include online tour operators and travel agents that provide booking services for flights, car rental, tours and accommodation and the more traditional travel wholesalers that package travel arrangements for sale through the travel trade, primarily travel agencies.
We serve customers through the channel of their choice, and we work with local and international tourism operators to improve service to our guests and strengthen the tourism industry.
We support various Namibian tourism organisations dedicated to advancing the nation’s tourism sector, namely Africa's Eden Tourism Association, Hospitality Association of Namibia, Namibia Tourism Board, Federation of Namibian Tourism Associations, Tour & Safari Association of Namibia and Adventure Travel Trade Association.
By promoting Namibia as a unified destination, we contribute to a strong economy and a thriving community, which are vital to our shared success.
