The Position:
Not every lodge boasts its own resident band, but then again, Etosha Safari Camp isn't your typical retreat.
Step into the lively atmosphere of its shebeen restaurant—a colourful blend of bric-a-brac, where each evening, the Etosha Safari Boys captivate diners in the courtyard with their melodic tunes.
Ever dreamt of joining the Etosha Safari Boys and serenading guests under the stars?
Let the gentle rhythms beckon them to join in the chorus, or let the music inspire them to dance beside a crackling fire. Strum your guitar beneath the benevolent African skies. It's an experience that transcends the ordinary.
The origin of the name 'Etosha Safari Boys' is as elusive as their harmonies. It naturally evolved over time as a group of talented musicians converged to form an in-house band at the camp, filling the air with captivating melodies. In this region, where outdoor socializing is woven into everyday life, music takes centre stage. In rural areas, people gather around fires at night for storytelling and singing, often accompanied by guitars or other instruments.
For the band members, performing at Etosha Safari Camp’s Okambashu-Naantu restaurant has become a profession. It's difficult to imagine Etosha Safari Camp without the soulful sounds of the Etosha Safari Boys. Join us for an unforgettable experience that harmonizes with the heart of Africa.
