Experience the magical atmosphere of our rustic self-catering camps in the northern reaches of the Fish River Canyon. Take a leisurely 4x4 drive to one of our unique camps and enjoy the tranquility and peace in the most spectacular rugged landscape of the Fish River Canyon. Or start your hiking adventure from Klipspringer Base Camp to Koelkrans, Horseshoe and Battlesnake Camp.
Each camp has cabins with beds and mattresses as well as communal bathrooms. A central cabin serves as a dining area and kitchen, while a fire pit or braai-place outdoors is provided for braais/barbeques. Each camp has its own cutlery and crockery, including a kettle, braai grids and a gas stove. Firewood is available. For detailed information on each camp please download the info pack on the right.
The Canyon Klipspringer Camps are bookable all year; however, hiking is only permitted between April to September. Gondwana offers nature lovers variousslackpacking packages for hiking adventures in the northern reaches of the Fish River Canyon during the Namibian winter months. For the rest of the year, hiking is strictly prohibited due to heat, which can result in serious health risks.
Please take note that the Koelkrans Camp is not easily accessible by car and requires advanced 4x4 driving skills.

Child Policy
Children are welcome at most of our venues. Children up to 5 years old are free of charge; for children between the age of 6 and 13 years we charge 50 per cent of the B&B rate. However, Horseshoe- and Battlesnake Camp are not recommended for children due to steep embankments.
