Every year, the Gondwana Care Trust runs their Back-to-school Christmas Bag Project. This project has three (3) goals. 1. Reward children who have performed well throughout the school year. 2. Encourage the children to return to school for the next academic year, equipped with stationary and a bag. And 3. To offer the children a small Christmas gift in the form of a sweet treat, small toy, book or toiletries (depending on the child's age). This project reaches children and schools all across Namibia, even in the most rural communities.
This wonderful project provided 3,269 bags to disadvantaged children across 48 schools in nine regions of Namibia in 2023. This achievement is made possible thanks to the generous support from Global United, PSG, the Frans Indongo Group, and many others.
Preparation for this project is always ongoing. If you’d like to get involved, the team is always looking for support.
We invite you to reach out to caretrust(at)gcnam.com to find out what are the items needed to add to the School Bags to make a child’s Christmas as special as possible.
You can either purchase/donate a bag through any Gondwana property or by visiting The Narrative Namibia
Alternatively, reach out to caretrust@gcnam.com to find out what are the items needed to add to the School Bags to make a child’s Christmas as special as possible.
