The Gondwana Care Trust, in collaboration with Eduvision Online Learning (EOL), proudly announces the success of a recent Networking and Fundraising Evening, on 15 June 2023 that raised over N$ 2 million for the Eduvision, Adopt-a-School Initiative. This initiative aims to provide accessible online learning to learners across Namibia.
Eduvision, a Non-Profit Association Incorporated Section 21 company and it was found in 2017, which stems out of the Edugate Academy in Otjiwarongo. It started with one of the founding members, Frikkie Louw, after his visit to Tsumkwe Secondary School. Recognising the need for quality education for all Namibian students, they partnered with B2Gold and Paratus Namibia to connect schools to the internet, igniting the Eduvision journey.
Through Eduvision, participating schools gain access to live lessons, interactive sessions, supplementary materials, and educational tools that enhance their understanding of the curriculum, ultimately preparing them for exams. This revolutionary teaching and learning process has breathed new life into classrooms across the nation, empowering educators and learners alike.
Since its inception, Eduvision has experienced significant growth and currently supports 19 schools. With a vision to assist 50 schools by 2026, the organisation has launched the Adopt-a-School Initiative, inviting organisations to take on the responsibility of supporting a school.
During the recent Networking and Fundraising Evening, Eduvision received pledges exceeding N$ 2 million in financial contributions, in addition to a vehicle generously sponsored by Indongo Toyota to facilitate transportation to the various project schools. The event was attended by esteemed representatives from private and public organisations. The Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture expressed their deep gratitude and unwavering support for the Eduvision Adopt-a-School Initiative. The Minister of Finance also emphasized the importance of providing quality education and equal access to Namibian learners in a brief speech.
The success of the evening would not have been possible without the generous contributions from organisations such as Capricorn Foundation, Paratus Namibia, Indongo Toyota, Tyrepro (Namibia) (Pty) Ltd t/a Tyres 2000 Dunlop Zone, and Development Bank of Namibia, among others.
Eduvision and the Gondwana Care Trust extend their heartfelt appreciation to all donors, supporters, and volunteers who have made this significant milestone possible. The raised funds will play a pivotal role in furthering Eduvision's mission and enabling more schools to benefit from this groundbreaking educational initiative.
