The World Food Programme (WFP) recently hosted a Regional Country Director’s leadership meeting at Kalahari Anib Lodge. The meeting aimed to exchange ideas on food systems, digitalization, e-Commerce, data analysis and evidence building, UN Reform, emergency response, resource mobilization and strategic partnership as well as government engagement.

The red dunes of the Kalahari was the perfect setting for such a meeting, the tranquil surroundings bore witness to some great ideas and initiatives that were discussed and everything went without a hitch. Gondwana Collection Namibia was proud to host the delegates for a few days, and tried their utmost, to make their stay as memorable and productive as possible.

The participants comprised of WFP’s Assistant Executive Directors and Directors from Rome, Country Directors from Southern Africa, senior officials, and experts from various sectors.

Delegates were advised to look at government engagement and partnerships, enlarge government and private sector pool and leverage technology to achieve zero hunger within their respective settings.

We hope that targets were set and met, and hope that we can welcome you back soonest, maybe this time for a much deserved rest.
