Gondwana Collection Namibia, PSG Wealth und Greenspace Namibia, have partnered to support the development of Avis Dam into a hub for conservation, recreation, and community engagement to benefit the City of Windhoek residents and all other visitors. Through a newly formalised Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), they commit to sustainability, visitor wellness and safety, and environmental preservation.
This non-profit initiative aims to preserve and enhance Avis Dam as a vibrant community space, focusing on improving recreational opportunities, development of an environmental information centre, and promoting the area as a prime urban conservation and educational site. Planned improvements include enhanced trails with clear route markings, the introduction of information panels to educate and entertain visitors and improved digital engagement with Avis Dam forums, as well as drive further engagement with new partners and possible investors.

A modern information centre at the main entrance and a digital platform—including a user-friendly mobile app—will provide visitors with updates on activities, trails, and events while simplifying entrance fee payments.
This collaboration brings together resources and expertise to improve Avis Dam’s ecological, recreational, and educational value. Greenspace Namibia, as the leaseholder, operating on behalf of the City of Windhoek, will oversee daily operations, maintenance, and the master plan implementation. Gondwana Collection Namibia and PSG Wealth Namibia will be supportive in this effort and drive continued focus on the success and sustainability of Avis Dam as a public open space.
