On Tuesday, 7 May 2024, Gondwana Collection Namibia and The Free Press of Namibia (FPN) announced a collaboration by signing a comprehensive cooperation agreement. This strategic partnership aims to foster synergy between the two organisations, particularly in the fields of journalism, environmental awareness, and community development.
The agreement, initiated by both parties, establishes a robust framework for cooperation, covering a wide array of areas, with a special focus on skills development, joint projects, and information exchange.
Manni Goldbeck, Brand and Marketing Director of Gondwana Collection Namibia, emphasised the significance of the partnership. "We are thrilled about the collaboration with FPN," Goldbeck stated. "Our aim is to not only enhance the skills and expertise of journalists but also to provide them with the tools necessary to report effectively on tourism and environmental issues, to also keep the public well-informed about developments in the tourism sector and environmental news."
Mark Kissler, Chief Operations Officer of The Free Press of Namibia, echoed Goldbeck's sentiments, underlining the mutual benefits this collaboration would bring. "This presents a fantastic opportunity for both parties," Kissler remarked. "We believe that by working together, we can achieve much more. We extend our gratitude to all involved, and we're eager to embark on this journey together. The possibilities are endless."
Under the terms of the cooperation agreement, Gondwana Collection Namibia and FPN will collaborate on various initiatives, including skills development programs through the facilitation of training sessions, joint projects via various editorial and content projects, information exchanges by way of comprehensive and accurate coverage on key issues within Namibia's tourism and environmental sectors, and community outreach by raising awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable tourism practices among local communities.
