Cold front brings rain to Gondwana Canyon Park

Written by Gondwana Collection | Jul 3, 2025 1:09:25 PM

This morning, the arid landscapes of Gondwana Canyon Park were blessed with a refreshing spell of rain, with approximately 2mm recorded at Canyon Lodge.

The region awoke to light showers that brought both relief and renewed vitality to the arid landscape. Temperatures remain low, while guests are treated to misty views of the dramatic rock formations.

This rain could possibly be attributed to the cold front currently sweeping across parts of Southern Africa.

The rain contributes to the much-needed nourishment for the park’s unique fauna and flora. Even small showers in this desert region can influence the delicate ecosystem, providing precious water to wildlife and plants. For now, Gondwana Canyon Park remains a misty, mystical escape for those brave enough to embrace Namibia’s southern winter.
