Ellias Amxab School visits Etosha National Park

Written by Gondwana Collection | Aug 11, 2022 6:48:43 AM

Eleven students from Elias Amxab Combined School situated in the Sesfontein Conservancy were provided with assistance from the Conservancy to conduct research in the Khoekhoegowab First Language on Etosha National Park.

The first group of students visited Outjo to conduct some school research at the Outjo Town Council chambers, the Outjo Museum, Outjo Crocodile Park, Outjo Township and the old Hospital.

Thanks to the Environmental Department of Gondwana Collection Namibia, the learners were able to visit the Namutoni Educational Centre and the Museum. They met with Ms. Lahya, who showed them around and also provided answers to all the questions that the learners had prepared for her.

The students were also able to enjoy the Etosha National Park during a safari game drive with Guide Jackson. They visited the Etosha Pan, Okaukuejo water hole, and experienced the Gondwana Guided Game Drive in the National Park. They saw lots of animals and birds.

The group met the guide Otto Haneb, who is the head guide, as well as Nanghaku Shikalepo and Iita Johannes at Etosha Safari Camp to answer questions regarding the Park and the Tourism Industry at large.

The eleven school students who were accompanied by the school's principal Mr. Natangwe Erastus and the School teachers Mr. John Ganuseb, Ms. Dorka Shikongo and Ms. Petronela Haradoes, were hosted and welcomed at Etosha Safari Camp, which included meals and activities. Packed lunches were also provided during the four days' stay.

Thank you to everyone who contributed in making this trip possible! Without education there is not much to look forward to.

Education opens the doors to a better future. Thank you to the Sesfontein Conservancy for the support, as well as Etosha Safari Camp for providing the accommodation and meals to the eager students.
