The Gondwana Collection Namibia offices are buzzing with excitement about a brand new competition. The team, who brought you the magnificently interesting VW Jubilee and the Farm Name of the year competition in 2013, has once again outdone themselves.
This year, the Gondwana team is going big with the ultimate competition. Imagine you can visit the most sought after destinations in Namibia. Relax next to the pool close to the Fish River Canyon, watch the sun cast its last rays for the day in the majestic Namib Desert, or quench your thirst for beauty with natures finest landscape views in Damaraland. Feel closer to nature in the Kalahari as you walk barefoot on its golden sand dunes, or enjoy the dance of the river on a boat cruise in the Caprivi. Imagine a care free 14 day road trip through Namibia. Have I tickled your fancy yet?
All right, all right I will let the cat out of the bag, or shall I rather say let’s get this competition on the road.
First things first; search through your photo database and find 3 of the best road images you have. Maybe you took a snap of the Seven Mile Bridge, Florida Keys, Chapman’s Peak Drive on a sunny day in Cape Town or just a 2 trail gravel road with an elephant blocking your road. The images can be from anywhere in the world, as long as it features a road. If you don’t have any photos, well then it is time to recharge the cameras batteries, pack a picnic basket and get snapping.
The next step is to log in to your own personal Facebook account, head over to the Gondwana Collection Facebook page and click the ‘like’ button. Once you have done that click on the Road Trip Photo Competition App and upload your carefully selected images. You will be asked to enter your name and email address.
If you are struggling to upload your images onto the app, send an email to pr@gondwana-collection.com with your name, contact details and a title and description of the images.
You are allowed to upload up to 3 images, but each image should not be bigger than 2MB.
Your images should have a title and a short description. It is important to include details like where the photo was taken; country and region. If you have a funny or interesting story about the photo, this might just up your chances to gain more votes.
To see your photos on the competition Facebook page, click here.
The photo with the most votes displays at the top of the page. To see your image scroll down to the last page. Remember, the more votes you receive, the higher up your image will display on the page. To get more votes for your image, you will need the help of family and friends. Please don’t annoy them in the middle of the night and stalk them constantly to vote for your photos. More importantly; to get more votes, do not... I repeat do not register on vote exchange groups or create multiple Facebook accounts to boost the number of votes for your entry. This will get you disqualified.
At the end of the competition, the 2 photos with the most votes are not automatically considered as the winner/s. 10 Photos in the 'Namibian' category and the 10 photos in the ‘World’ category with the most votes will be laid before a panel of judges who will determine the winners in each category.
This brings us to the good part of the competition; the prize. I hope you aren’t wearing any socks today, because this will blow them right off your feet.
The two winners will each receive 2 Business class return tickets sponsored by Air Namibia on their international Frankfurt to Windhoek route.
To travel in style through the magnificently beautiful Namibia, each winner will receive a car for hire for 14 days from Caprivi and Savanna Car Hire respectively, and 14 days accommodation on a B&B basis at Gondwana Collection Namibia’s lodges.
