Standard Bank Klein-Aus Vista Mountain Bike Challenge and Trail Run

On this past Saturday mountain bikers - professionals and hobbyists; trail runners and outdoor enthusiasts participated in the 9th Standard Bank Klein-Aus Vista Mountain Bike Challenge and Trail Run. An overall 46 participants competed in five different events including Ultra (97km), Full (64km) and Half (27km) MTB Marathons as well as a 23km Trail Run and an 8km Fun Run. With multiple new events having been added this year, the programme was incredibly diverse, offering enjoyable moments amidst challenging and technical terrain as well as uniquely rewarding scenery to all participants.

 

For the Men's Ultra Marathon, Tristan De Lange, one of Namibia's top riders secured the win with a time of 4h41. Another top-rider, Alex Miller who has also been selected for the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, unfortunately sustained an injury after roughly 50km of the race and could not continue further.
