A new chapter in coastal hospitality begins today with the official groundbreaking of The Admiral, an exclusive luxury hotel development set along The Esplanade in Walvis Bay. Overlooking the iconic Flamingo Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean, the project promises to redefine premium accommodation on Namibia’s coastline.
Scheduled to open its doors in December 2027, this development forms part of the Gondwana Collection Namibia portfolio, further strengthening the group’s presence along Namibia’s coast.
The Admiral places guests at the activity hub of Walvis Bay, with convenient access to the harbour, international airport and the famed Sandwich Harbour dunes.
Designed by acclaimed Namibian architect Conrad Scheffer, the hotel draws inspiration from the sleek lines and nautical elegance of luxury yachts. The innovative design will feature a distinctive wind-smart facade that accommodates to coastal climate while maximising the site’s panoramic positioning.
The hotel will feature 24 spacious suites, including three exclusive penthouse suites. Standard suites will offer approximately 80 square metres of living space, while penthouses will extend to 110 square metres. Floor-to-ceiling positioning ensures uninterrupted views of both the Atlantic Ocean and Flamingo Lagoon from every room.
In keeping with modern guest expectations, all suites will be equipped as smart rooms, integrating advanced technology for lighting, climate, and entertainment at the touch of a button.
Each suite has been thoughtfully designed to provide a complete living experience, incorporating a bedroom, lounge or office area, sun lounge, kitchenette, and a modern bathroom.
Beyond its accommodation offering, The Admiral will cater to both leisure and business travellers with a range of premium facilities. These include three multi-media meeting rooms overlooking the ocean, a swimming pool, and an elegantly designed guest lounge that perfectly blends comfort with sophistication, creating a versatile environment for relaxation and work.
