Gondwana Collection Namibia officially launched their new website ‘Aux 4 coins de la Namibie’ on the 30th July at The Wolfshack in Windhoek. This French news platform was created to promote Namibia to the French-speaking markets as the demand for information on Namibia in French is ever increasing.
The launch was attended by Her Excellency, Claire Bodonyi, Ambassador of France to Namibia, as well as tour operators focussed on the French market, French businesses established in Namibia, as well as French institutions and institutions promoting French in Namibia and intercultural relationships between France and Namibia.
Her Excellency encouraged French-Namibian relationship. “Let’s offer French people the chance to get to know the cultures of Namibia. When tourists leave Namibia, they were often not in contact with Namibians during their trip. They go from lodge to lodge. They name all the giraffes and they learn all the lions’ nicknames, but they don’t know you. Tourism is a way of connecting people.”
The name of the website ‘Aux 4 coins de la Namibie’ directly translates to “in the four corners of Namibia” and it means the whole of Namibia. “Four” refers to the four cardinal directions on a compass.
“Although powered by Gondwana, the website aims to serve as a platform for potential collaborations with tour operators and other businesses with French clients who have a Namibian story to tell,” said Manni Goldbeck, Marketing Director at Gondwana.
