The Gondwana Care Trust has supported a few new projects, and has received great support from various organisations through events that were organised in the Trust's aid.

Eduvision

Project Coordinator: Ms Jurita Potigieter

Eduvision offers recorded lessons in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, as well as Economy Grade 11 to students in Grades 10, 11 and 12, according to the Namibian Curriculum, NSSC (O) and NSSC (AS). The rest of the schools can also benefit from the system by using the internet and Smartboard as a teaching tool.

Their Vision is “To connect teachers and students in remote schools to the internet and modern e-learning techniques, and to offer interactive teaching to remote schools.”

Namibia is a fast-developing country, but the vast areas mean that a lot of the smaller towns and villages do not have the infrastructure to support schools in remote areas. Technology however allows to bridge this gap and bring teachers and classes directly to the student in an innovative and extraordinary way.

With the generous help of sponsors, Eduvision aims to provide equal opportunities to the youth of Namibia, and to ultimately ensure a brighter future for all.

The Gondwana Care Trust would like to enable more schools and their students to benefit from this fantastic opportunity and, together with Eduvision’s Team, organised a fundraising event at The Weinberg Windhoek.

The evening was a success to get more support towards the schools which are part of the program, and additionally to also look into adopting more schools across Namibia into this system. A special thank you to Pro Studio for filming and editing the video showcased that evening, thank you to The Weinberg Windhoek Team for hosting the event and also to the Gondwana Team for organizing the event.

A huge thank you for the sponsorships and donations that were made during the evening. Thank you to Capricorn Foundation, Paratus Namibia, Indongo Toyota, Tyrepro (Namibia), Development Bank of Namibia and SGA for your generous contributions. Over N$2 million was pledged throughout the event.

The Gondwana Care Trust commits to continue to support Eduvision with accommodation for the teachers, on a full board basis, when traveling to the schools where Gondwana Collection has lodges. Eduvision travels to all schools enrolled in the program on a regular basis, to assist the teachers and the students in using the technology to its full potential.

If you want to suggest or recommend a school to take part in this program, to share the gift of knowledge, please contact Eduvision directly or contact the Gondwana Care Trust. Lets help students and teachers in Namibia to get the support they deserve.
