Natasha Pre-Primary School Katutura

Meme Meriam has been teaching the children of her area to prepare them as best as possible for the big school. To keep the young children off the streets and to give them a good start before starting grade 1, Meriam also provides the children with a balanced meal, which gives them all the energy they need to develop a strong body and mind.

The early stages in a school career are the most important in a child's life and Meme Meriam has been a key element in many children's lives for the past few years.

Natasha Pre-Primary School has been in dire need of repair and maintenance and thanks to good samaritans such as Brad and Jill, the Gondwana Care Trust was able to assist Meriam with financing her renovations.

Natasha Pre-Primary School has been a beneficiary of the Back-to-School Christmasbag Project and is also part of the MealForTwo Program. The Pre-Primary School looks after an average of 30 children on an annual basis.

The Grace Project

The Grace Project organizes regular outreach projects to focus on both health and care. The Gondwana Care Trust is blessed to be able to assist the Grace Project with food purchases through the MealForTwo Project. The first sponsorship of the season was to the value of N$20 000.00, which was allocated to purchase the much needed groceries. An additional amount of N$20 000.00 was allocated to the August Aranos outreach.

The first outreach took place in Rehoboth on the 18th of June - The Grace Project visited the Rehoboth Old Age Homes. The pensioners were treated with a home-cooked meal, a soft blanket, as well as a pedicure and manicure while they shared some stories with the team.

Around 100 people were treated and spoiled for the day, and they enjoyed the company as well as the treats very much.

Annelie Olivier Old Age Home was next on the list and the residents enjoyed a well-deserved lunch. Food hampers were distributed to the workers at the Old Age Homes, as well as to the pensioners.

On the 29th of June, the outreach continued to the Khomasdal Region where around 115 pensioners received assistance and care. This was their first meeting in over almost three years.

The next outreach took place in Aranos over the weekend of the 12th to14th of August 2022.

The Grace Organization had a team of 10 doctors, 2 dentists, a pharmacist and a sonographer, along with approximately 65 volunteers that served the community of Aranos with free medical help. Over the two days they managed to serve 764 people with the assistance they needed.

In addition to the medical assistance, they also offered the ladies a free manicure and pedicure and the gentlemen received a free haircut and beard trim. Whilst the patients were waiting in line to be seen by a doctor, they were served with a cold refreshment drink as well as a sandwich.

Mr Quintin Hartung (Gondwana Care Trust’s Trustee) was able to participate during the outreach.

THANK YOU to the medical staff who contributed to the success of the outreach.
