How would you create your story in Namibia?

Imagine lounging at the pool at one of the Gondwana properties. You have found a nice spot, where you get a bit of sunlight, but not so much that you pass-out of heat exhaustion. On the little table next to you is a well-deserved ice-cold beverage, which you deserve after a long day exploring Namibia.

The dusty and desolate road you have travelled has never made you feel more alive. You listen to the sound of nature which surrounds you. That’s it! You pen down your latest adventure, you should; as Namibia will bring out the storyteller in you, once you’ve experienced the extreme contrasts in this place we call home.

Ernest Hemingway, travelled the world, which inspired many of his books but of Africa he said: “The only man I envy is the man who has not yet been to Africa, for he has so much to look forward to.” He could have spoken about Namibia. Our rolling dunes meeting the ocean, the very same coastline which is littered with shipwrecks and lives lost.

The open plains of Andoni which go on for miles and miles. The Fish River Canyon, where you can disconnect from the outside world and find yourself, the Zambezi Region, our own Garden of Eden. The landscapes, the nature; we have it all.

Our people are the friendliest, warmest people, anyone will ever have the privilege to meet. The different cultures make us all unique, and the one trait which we all share, the love for our country.

Make memories while you are here, see the places you’ve always wanted to see, try cuisines you’ve never heard of and marvel at what Namibia has to offer.

These scenes are poetic. It awakens the storyteller, the writer and the poet in all of us. How you decide to capture them is up to you. Take out your notebook, your camera or your phone.

Capture the essence of Namibia because you will never see it anywhere else. Keep the memories of Namibia with you. Because, once the Namibian rays have touched your soul, you will never want to leave. Your story is out there, go find it!
