Swakopmund has always been an escape, for local and international travelers alike. Recently though, the coastal town has become more than an escape, it has become an experience. With the opening of the new Gondwana Hotel – the first of its kind – The Delight offers guests an entirely new way of experiencing the coast.

The Delight Swakopmund

Mornings begin with bright and warm smiles, as you can delve into new and exciting tastes at breakfast. Kaiser-grillers and bacon…jams and Nutella…omelettes, waffles and the most incredible banana bread you will ever taste. For the more adventures guests The Delight even has oysters and champagne on offer. Once you have eaten your fill – and trust us when we say you will be returning to the breakfast buffet a few times before you are finally able to say that you are satisfyingly stuffed –adventures await you.

Where to begin? Camel rides through the soft desert sand or quad-biking for the adrenaline junkies, both are available to give you a new perspective of the Namib Desert. If you prefer hitting the water and cruising along the coast, The Delight has all the information on activities you would need.

The brave hearted may take to the sky and try hot air ballooning, where a bird’s eye view allows you to see it all. Sand boarding, skydiving and feast on the visual pleasures of this stunning environment – you cannot help but fall in love with the Atlantic Coastline.

Once the sun begins to sink into the bright Atlantic waters, you can take your pick of cuisines on offer. What do you feel like, traditional German schnitzel, or maybe fresh sushi instead? Regardless of your taste preferences,Swakopmund has what you need to have the full culinary experience your heart desires.

And once you return to The Delight – after your long but satisfyingly adventures day – you unlock your room door to find the bedside lamp switched on and the covers pulled slightly back, inviting you to snuggle under the covers. And the most delightful moment, when you realise that a bright red water bottle has been placed in your bed to make your night a cosy and comfortable one.

The Delight not only enables an experience of Swakopmund, but it also becomes an experience in itself. The kind hearted staff is always ready to lend a helping hand. The rooms and breakfast-restaurant invite you to escape from the ordinary and experience a collection of extraordinary moments.
