Gondwana – It’s in the art of telling stories

The Narrative Namibia has been wading into the deep waters of e-commerce for a little over a year now. Something, that many of our users may not be aware of, is that The Narrative Namibia originated of a somewhat older story. While the main focus of Gondwana lies in the art of telling stories, The Narrative took a few steps back by focusing on telling stories and ensuring that we actually have stories to tell

Gondwana Collection Namibia celebrated its twenty-fifth birthday in 2021. This is an anniversary that offered the opportunity to look back and dwell in memories and to enjoy the stories of then and now, but also to look into the future to and wonder on where the road will take this genuine Namibian brand.

When the first investors met for a general meeting near the Fish River Canyon, I doubt they could ever foresee or envision what this company would become. The original idea was to create a tourism destination to host guests in the larger Fish River Canyon Area. This income would be used to regenerate the ravished landscape around the property. Now, almost 26 years later, one lodge in Namibia has turned into 47 accommodation offerings across the country.

This includes car rental, a travel agency, an online travel agent and the lovely Narrative e-commerce site, as well as the Traveller Transfer Go2. Two years after the Covid-19 break out, we may not yet be thriving yet, but at least we are still moving.

What you as a reader need to understand is that Gondwana is not a brand Namibians associate themselves with because there is a wide variety of accommodation options or cars available under our umbrella. When people see the Gondwana hand – they know there is so much more to it than meets the eye.
