As someone who travels a lot for work, I know how difficult it can be to efficiently pack, plan, and make the most of your trips. When I first started working in this field, I struggled to find the right tools and resources to make my travels as smooth and stress-free as possible. However, after many trips and a lot of trial and error, I've discovered a number of apps and websites that have made my travels much easier and more enjoyable.

In this blog, I'd like to share some of my favourite travel apps and websites that have proven to be invaluable to me. Whether you're a seasoned traveller or just starting out, I hope these resources will help you plan and execute your travels with ease.

  1. Airbnb - Airbnb has revolutionized the way we travel by giving us access to affordable and unique accommodations. From apartments to treehouses, Airbnb offers a wide variety of options that cater to different needs and budgets. I love how I can get an authentic experience of staying in a local neighbourhood and interacting with locals.
  2. TripAdvisor - TripAdvisor is a travel site that offers a wealth of information on destinations, including user-generated reviews, photos, and maps. The site is a great resource for researching destinations, finding restaurants, and booking activities and tours. I also use TripAdvisor to compare prices and make informed decisions on where to stay and what to do.
  3. Gondwana Travel Centre - Gondwana Travel Centre is a great resource for those traveling to Namibia. It offers a wide range of travel information, including tours and activities, and can help you plan and book your trip. I love how I can easily find all the information I need in one place, making it easy to plan my travels.

  1. Google Maps - Google Maps is a must-have app for any traveler. It not only provides maps and directions, but also offers a wealth of information on restaurants, attractions, and local hotspots. I love how I can save maps offline, making it easy to access even when I don’t have internet access. It is worth mentioning that one can easily download Google Maps for offline use, which is especially helpful when traveling to areas with limited signal, such as Namibia. This feature allows you to access maps and directions without an internet connection, making it easy to navigate even in areas with poor signal.
  2. Hopper - Hopper is an app that helps you find the best flights and hotels for your travels. It predicts the best time to book your trip based on price trends and also alerts you when prices change. The app also offers a simple interface that makes it easy to compare prices and book your trip in just a few clicks.

  1. XE Currency - XE Currency is a currency converter app that helps me keep track of exchange rates while I travel. It’s a great resource for budgeting and helps me avoid overspending on my travels.
  2. CityMapper - CityMapper is a transportation app that helps me navigate through unfamiliar cities. The app provides real-time updates on public transportation, including schedules and delays. It also offers alternative routes and estimated arrival times, making it easy to plan my travels.
  3. Packing Pro - Packing Pro is a packing list app that helps me plan and pack for my travels. The app offers customizable packing lists, allowing me to add items based on my destination and activities. It also reminds me of things I may have forgotten, making my packing process stress-free.

In conclusion, these are some of my favourite travel apps and websites that I use to plan and execute my trips. These tools have contributed to making my adventures smoother, more organized, and enjoyable. Whether you’re a seasoned traveller, a newbie, or if you travel a lot for work - like I do - these apps and websites are worth checking out. They offer a wide range of information, resources, and tools that can help you plan and execute your travels with ease. From booking flights and accommodations to finding restaurants and attractions, these apps and websites have everything you need to plan a successful trip.
